Good News!

I received a call today that told me that the comment not belonging to my company was being removed. Guess if you are loud enough you eventually get heard.  Thank goodness this is gone.

We recently got a smart TV. We can stream Pandora on TV or You Tube and apps etc.
We are supposed to be able stream movies through Netflix as well.

Because we have this new feature we decided to use the 30 day free trial of Netflix.
But we can never get this to work. It will not stream on our television only our computer.
Netflix blamed the TV company but I said we can stream every other application including Hulu movies just not Netflix.  They tried and we attempted all kinds of things but nothing worked.

I called the television support number and they too had me trying everything.
They were great and they tried really hard and were very supportive.
I love their customer service! I love the TV as much as their customer service.
They of course blame Netflix because we are able to stream all other apps.
Which makes sense I guess.

So I call Netflix again a few days later and when I called I got an automated announcement that states they are unable to stream movies in certain areas and they are aware and working on it.
When the representative gets on the phone I tell her that we are still having trouble streaming any movies so we will have to cancel our free month trial.
She repeats to me that I need to speak to my television company because this is their issue.
I told her about the announcement that came on the phone before she answered and she told me that isn't true.  I giggled and suggested she hang up with me and call the number herself so could hear it. She was so nice and she laughed and said she sure would because she was not made aware of this issue.

Both companies have been so nice and have walked me through all that they could do but nothing worked for us. Netflix told me to just watch them on my computer.
Gee I just got a new big tv why would I want to watch a big HD movie on my computer screen?
Nah, that isn't what we would use or prefer. We are old school....and old.

Do any of you use Netflix? Is it worth it?  Are you able to stream on your Smart TV?

We don't use Netflix but we're slowly coming around to thinking that we will again (at least for the 30 day trial.) I don't know that we'll stream (or that we can) but I'll try. I just...I'm so not into tv/movies these days that anything beyond the trial I doubt we'll do.

the streaming netflix isn't worth it. It doesn't have a big selection of movies and the new ones take forever to become available. It's only worth it if you plan on watching mostly tv series. I have a Smart TV but haven't really used it. We are debating getting Amazon Prime (similar to netflix but more options)

PS. nothing to do with this post, but I don't think you ever followed up on what happened with the cop that pulled you over and the lawyer letter. I was curios to know what happened.

Yeah for the good news!
AS for the tv thingy, my one son has netflix and watches it on his tv. Though somehow he has his desk top computer hooked up to that tv along with his cable box. Any way, he loves watching movies on his BIG screen too.
As for me, I have no idea what you're talking about ;o)

Netflix, up or down - http://downrightnow.com/netflix

We have Netflix. It's worth the 8 bucks a month but not much more. The movies you've heard of are old. The newer movies they have you've never heard of. Some are good, some not.

I have a Western Digital add on box so I can't advise you on your TV. But since you can get it on your computer, I would point my finger at your TV and Netflix not liking each other. Good luck on getting someone to figure out why. I say TV. Call the TV people back and insist that it works on your computer but not the TV.

If you keep having trouble, call me, and I'll put my son on the line. Maybe he can figure it out.

Bonnie - I can do that as well with my laptop to tv but don't wish to go that route. Especially since my tv SHOULD be able to do this. Thanks though!

Mike - I agree with the tv and netflix not liking one another. I think they shouldn't offer this app though if that is the case. Oh well it saves me $7.99 a month. :-)

I have Netflix... and unlike most... or is it all of them.. I Love it! I pay for one account but I stream it to all of my devices. It is on my Television (thru Wii), it is on my iPad, my computer and my phone. and all at one time. So while I am on the treadmill at the gym watching a movie on my ipad, my son can be on my phone. While I am watching something on the TV, my son is beside using the same account to watch cartoons. When we are out to dinner and my son is having a meltdown, or in the car, and even at a wedding once) when my son starts getting ansy, I whip out my phone and shove it at him - with head phones of course.

I definitely agree that they do nto have the new movies, but I am a documentary and independant film girl. Also, my son loves it for the kid shows.

Lastly, I even pay more to have two movies come to the house. you can keep them as long as you like so I use them for raod trips withmy son as well as to rent movies like the Outsiders for my 8th grade English
class.

When I want to watch the brand new ones I either go to Redbox or do ON-Demand.

Tina, we don't even have a DVD player anymore so I didn't choose to get the DVD part of netflix. But I just canceled it until we get this worked out. Crazy. I too like the docs and independent. I wanted to see Bernie - have you seen that? There were a few docs I wanted but not the one you just watched about vegetable. :-)

I also wanted to see the Downton Abby craze. Rick would never watch that unless as he says, he wants a nap. So that was another reason I thought it would be fun. Oh well.
